Specially designed SIDACtor protection thyristors made by Littelfuse ensure LED light strings continue operating when individual bulbs fail as open circuits. Our PLED—short for “LED protector”—products shunt current around shorted bulbs while also providing ESD, EFT, and transient voltage surge protection. We offer several different types of PLEDs, including devices for outdoor use that meet international standards for lightning protection and devices for use in light ballast originally installed to support fluorescent fixtures.
- Available with a very wide range of maximum repetitive peak forward voltage ratings, from 6 VDRM to 340 VDRM
- Available with maximum breakdown voltage ratings from 16 V to 430 V
